Cirsotrema zografakisi
Poppe, Tagaro & Brown, 2006
Description:
Dimensions range from 39.9 mm - 95.6 mm high and 32.1 mm wide.
Width to height ratio: 0.8:1 ~ 0.34:1
Shell: elongate pyramidal; heavy; moderately small to large. Exterior colour dirty white. About 8 whorls; protoconch missing in holotype. Suture deep and hidden by the costae. Imperforate: closed by the columellar callus. Approximately 22 costae on the body whorl. Costae are blade-like. Costae slightly angled below the suture. Intercostal spaces strong spiral cords. Interstices with approximately 9 spiral striae per whorl. Base with a strong basal cord crossed by the costae. Aperture round.
superficially resembles Cirsotrema mitoukai (Ozaki, 1958) except C. mitoukai has more convex whorls and the costae do not extend over the basal disc. Cirsotrema rugosa, Kuroda & Ito, 1961 also appears similar, however the costae in C. rugosa are strongly peaked at the shoulder
