Description:
Dimensions range from 28.6 mm - 29 mm high.
Width to height ratio: 00:1 ~ 00:1
Shell: acuminate; rather thin; moderately small. Exterior colour yellowish-white, costae lighter in colour. About 14 whorls, periphery almost straight; sharply, narrowly shouldered, separated by sutures. Suture deep. Approximately 10 costae on the body whorl. Costae are narrow, well-defined on teleoconch whorls, becoming less pronounced. Intercostal spaces with well-defined cords which cross over the costae, creating small nodules. Interstices with approximately 12 spiral striae per whorl. Base without basal ridge or disk. Aperture elongate-ovate, lip simple. Operculum unknown.

Etymology:
[greek] from paradoxos = strange, contrary to expectations, referring to the lack of expected features for the genus Cvlindriscala.
