Amaea kushimotensis

Description:

Dimensions range from 5 mm - 10 mm high and 2.5 mm - 3.8 mm wide.
Width to height ratio: 0.5:1 ~ 0.38:1

Shell: acuminate; minute to small. Exterior colour brown to white. About 1.5 whorls, convex; protoconch with ~1.5 whorls smooth, usually defected. Suture deep. Imperforate. Approximately 10 costae on the body whorl. Intercostal spaces spiral striae which cross the costae. Interstices with approximately 12 - 13 spiral striae per whorl. Base well developed basal disc with a strong peripheral keel;, with a strong peripheral keel and well developed basal disc. Columella margin thick. Aperture ovate; peristome doubled, complete; outer lip thick.


Distribution:

Kii Peninsula, Japan; East China Sea (L. Brown 2009: 22, fig. 6).

at about 100m deep., 100 m
