Volva volva

(Linnaeus, 1758)

IInflated body whorl with anterior and posterior canals drawn out into long curved spindles, equivalent in length to the body whorl. Aperture wide, lip rounded and very slightly thickened. Body whorl smooth or with faint striae, canals striated.
Colour: usually white, but sometimes pale orange, or pink, lip white and interior pale tan.
