Plastiscala verconis

Description:

Dimensions range from 8 mm - 8 mm high and 3 mm wide.
Width to height ratio: 0.38:1 ~ 0.38:1

Shell: elongate conical; small. Exterior colour whiteish. About 9 whorls; protoconch with ~1.5 whorls smooth, mamillate; teleoconch with ~7 whorls weakly sculptured with costae. Imperforate. Approximately 24 costae on the body whorl. Costae are low, sharp and crossed with concentric striae. There are 1 varices on each whorl. Intercostal spaces crossed by numerous spiral lirae. Aperture subrotund.

Etymology:

Presumably named for Joseph Verco, a noted Australian malacologist and mentor to BC Cotton
