Description:
Dimensions range from 5 mm - 7 mm high and 3 mm - 3.3 mm wide.
Width to height ratio: 0.6:1 ~ 0.47:1
Shell: ventricose-conical; solid; minute. Exterior colour smooth, white, and shiny. About 9 whorls, rounded, growing rapidly and regularly, disjointed, with each whorl supported by the ribs of the previous one.; protoconch with 1-2 whorls smooth; teleoconch with ~7 whorls. Imperforate. Costae forming obliquely running series. Columella columellar margin shaped by rib-like formations. Aperture obliquely oval; peristome thick and rounded, reinforced externally by the last rib.

named for J.C. Savigny., This curious species is dedicated as a modest tribute to the memory of the illustrious scholar from the Egyptian scientific expedition, who revived the monuments and natural history of Egypt through a monumental and magnificent atlas.
