Gyroscala

de Boury, 1887

Shell medium size; spire elevated; protoconch conical, smooth; colour may be diffused or present as spiral bands; whorls are generally attached; body whorl with well-defined, thin basal cord; surface glossy with axial costae, intercostal space smooth; aperture with a continuous, thickened peristome; umbilicus closed.

Gyroscala de Boury, 1887:15. Type species Scalaria commutata Monterosato, 1877 [= Scalaria lamellosa Lamarck, 1822],
