Tonna tankervillii

(Hanley, 1860)
Shell: large to very large, light, globose , ranging from 96-230 mm. ; suture deeply impressed. Sculpture: 16 broad, rounded spiral ribs, smaller ribs between the larger primary ribs at the posterior end of the body whorl may also be present. Periostracum thin, straw coloured. Exterior colour cream to pale brown, may display alternating bands .
